Being / in this / my body

First draft poem for Tracie Morris’s Embodied Poetics workshop, written on the banks of Boulder Creek, 12/6/18.

being

/ in this / my

body

– cis

woman

white.

standing

in [my]

power

/or / what

that

means

feeling red

earth

rising

from deep

roots beneath

my/ feet

ankles

knees

hips

alive &

open

pelvic basin

lotus / pool

of light

in heat

my yoni

flow[er]ing

crimson lips

sweet soma

liquous flow

embodying desire

we / touch

as babies

belly breathing

this embrace

is

who

we

are

connecting

not projecting

nor rejecting

you in me

who in me

is welcome

– presence –

under stood

And with this / my

voice

that

trembles

falters

i reach in & down & through

to

the river

ever

flowing

spilling

flooding

filling

cosmic space

:

tongues of love

from me

to you
